Mastering the Strategist AI Agent

Updated over a week ago

1. What the Strategist Agent Does

The Strategist Agent is your AI-powered outreach planner.
It creates multi-step, multi-channel sales sequences tailored to:

  • Your product or service

  • Your ideal customer profile (ICP)

  • Your campaign goals

Primary Goal:
Help you build an effective outreach plan—email, LinkedIn, and calling steps—without having to manually map the sequence.

2. Where the Strategist Agent Fits in Your Workflow

The Strategist Agent is used at the campaign level:

  • When building or revising a campaign sequence

  • Often paired with the Copywriter Agent to produce both the structure (strategist) and the content (copywriter)

3. Setting Up Your Strategist Agent

Step 1 – Create a Team First

The Strategist Agent must be part of a Team, which defines the Knowledge Center folders it can use.

Example:

  • Leads Cloud Team → assigned Company Knowledge, Sales Training, and Leads Cloud product folder.

Step 2 – Start the Agent Creation

When creating an agent inside your team and choosing Strategist, you can:

  1. Answer Setup Questions (Recommended)

  2. *Skip and set up manually

Step 3 – (Optional) Answer Setup Questions

These questions give the strategist better context for planning campaigns.
Examples:

  • Who is your target audience for this campaign?

  • What’s your primary goal—opens, replies, booked calls?

  • What channels do you typically use?

  • What’s your usual follow-up pattern?

Pro Tip:

Include past campaign data or successful sequence patterns for better results.

Step 4 – Name Your Agent

Examples:

  • Leads Cloud Strategist

  • Outbound SaaS Strategist

  • BDR Playbook Designer

Pick a name you’ll easily recognize in dropdowns.

Step 5 – Define the Role

Example:

You are a strategist for B2B Rocket. Your job is to design high-conversion multi-channel outreach sequences for SaaS founders in North America. Prioritize reply rate and relationship-building.

Step 6 – Add Specific Instructions

Examples:

  • Prioritize short first-touch emails

  • Use LinkedIn connection requests before cold calls

  • Always follow up 3+ times over 14 days minimum

  • Include value-based touches (resource sharing) in mid-sequence
