Buying Intent

Updated yesterday

Knowing which prospects are actively researching solutions like yours can give you a major edge in outreach. Buying intent data reveals which individuals or companies are showing interest in specific topics, helping you focus your efforts where theyโ€™re most likely to pay off.

By using intent signals in your lead generation and scoring strategy, your team can prioritize high-potential prospects, personalize messaging, and improve conversion rates, making every outreach more meaningful and effective.

You can access this filter feature in two key areas:

Letโ€™s get started ๐Ÿš€

People Search

Use Buying Intent filters in People Search to find individuals actively researching your selected topics, making it easier to target high-interest prospects.

Step 1: Log in to your account and click on the People search icon on the left side of the interface.

Step 2: You will navigate to the People search page, where you can apply filters to find individuals matching your criteria.

Step 3: Click on the Buying Intent filter from the left panel. A dropdown will appear saying "Please select at least one topic".

Step 4: Click on the Edit button next to Intent Topics to open the full list of available intent signals.

A modal titled Intent Topic Settings will appear, where you can browse categorized topics (e.g., Accounting, Ad Tech, Aerospace) or use the search bar to quickly find a specific topic.

For demonstration purposes, we have selected the topic SpaceX under the Aerospace category.

Step 5: After selecting your desired topic, click the Save button.

Your selected topic will now be visible under Intent Topics in the filter panel on the left.

Step 6: Click the checkbox next to your selected intent topic.

Step 7: Select the desired Intent Score. (High, Medium, Low, or None) to filter people based on their level of interest.

The table below explains what each intent score means:

Indent Score

Description

High

The company is actively showing interest in the selected topic โ€” a sign of near-term buying intent.

Medium

The company is showing some engagement or research behavior โ€” a potential lead with moderate interest.

Low

The company has shown light or early-stage interest โ€” these leads may need more nurturing.

None

No detectable intent activity around the selected topic โ€” usually not ready to engage.

Note: To maximize the number of leads, we recommend selecting High, Medium, and Low intent scores. Choosing only โ€œHighโ€ may result in fewer results, as high-intent signals are often limited.

Step 8: Once the filters are applied, you will see a list of individuals on the right side, showing details like their name, job title, company, location, and available contact information.

Note: For more accurate results, combine Intent Score + Industry + Roles/Titles based on your target persona. For example, if targeting "Accounting" topics, select related industries (e.g., Information Technology) and relevant roles (e.g., Sales Representative).
