Email Sending Limits and Ramp Up Schedule
Updated over a week ago

Introduction

Managing your mailbox sending limits is crucial for maintaining email deliverability and ensuring that your campaigns run smoothly. B2B Rocket provides a default sending schedule for all newly connected mailboxes, making it easier for users—especially Done-For-You (DFY) customers—to get started quickly. However, for users who prefer to set custom limits, B2B Rocket allows for manual adjustments. This guide will walk you through configuring your mailbox sending limits step-by-step.

Default Sending Limits

When you connect a new mailbox to B2B Rocket, it is automatically assigned a default sending schedule. This schedule is optimized to ensure smooth email ramp-up and prevent domain reputation issues.

  • Day 1: 6 emails per day

  • Gradual Increase: The number of emails sent increases daily, following a pre-configured schedule.

  • No Manual Adjustments: Initially, the default schedule cannot be modified.

This feature is particularly helpful for DFY users who have no prior experience setting up mailboxes and domains.

Customizing Your Sending Limits

For users who prefer more control over their email sending schedules, B2B Rocket provides several customization options.

Steps to Modify Sending Limits

  1. Navigate to the Mailbox Settings: Go to your B2B Rocket account and access the mailbox settings.

  2. Click 'Update Limit': Select the mailbox whose limits you want to modify.

  3. Select the 'Custom' Tab: This allows you to change the default schedule.

  4. Adjust Daily Sending Limits:

    • Start at a specific day (e.g., Day 7, Day 8, etc.).

    • Increase limits to 10, 15, or more emails per day.

    • Save changes to apply the new limit.

Advanced Customization

B2B Rocket also allows you to fully customize the sending schedule:

  • Click the Pencil Icon to edit the current schedule.

  • Choose a Daily or Weekly Increase:

    • Daily Increase: Sending limits rise each day.

    • Weekly Increase: Email limits rise at a weekly interval.

  • Example Weekly Schedule:

    • Week 1: 6 emails per day

    • Week 2: 7 emails per day

    • Week 3: 8 emails per day

This approach helps users who want a more conservative increase in their sending limits.

Recommended Settings

While B2B Rocket allows full customization, it is highly recommended to stick to the default settings unless you have prior experience with email warm-up strategies. Increasing email limits too quickly can lead to issues such as:

  • Poor email deliverability

  • Risk of emails being marked as spam

  • Domain reputation damage

Bulk Update Feature

Currently, B2B Rocket does not support bulk updates for multiple mailboxes. Each mailbox must be configured individually. However, improvements to this feature are in development.

FAQs

1. Why should I use the default sending schedule?

The default schedule is designed to gradually warm up your mailbox, ensuring that emails reach the inbox instead of spam folders.

2. Can I skip the initial email limits if my mailbox has already been warmed up?

Yes, you can manually increase the daily sending limits for pre-warmed mailboxes.

3. What is the risk of sending too many emails too soon?

Sending too many emails too quickly can trigger spam filters, lower deliverability rates, and damage your domain reputation.

4. Can I apply the same settings to multiple mailboxes at once?

No, at this time, B2B Rocket requires individual configuration for each mailbox. A bulk update feature is in development.

5. Where can I find the recommended ramp-up schedule?

The recommended schedule will be linked in this Help Center article.
